It has been a busy few months here – The Hen House is finished and is now up and running and proving a big hit with our guests. I may be a tiny bit biased but it is lovely – beautifully finished by our small team of local builders – Pete, John and Andy who worked so hard (between the doughnut breaks!) to get it all finished on time.
The beds are super comfy, with pocket sprung mattresses (made locally in Wiltshire), the bathrooms are spacious with powerful showers and loads of hot water. It is the perfect base for a break and I’m quite tempted to move in there myself for a few days to get away from it all as it seems to have a lovely clutter free calm about it!
Our first guests in The Hen House came for their own wedding in the beautiful village church followed by a reception in the village hall, it was great fun to be a tiny part of their big weekend and I was so relieved that we had it ready on time for them!
With all the limelight on the shiny new Hen House The Stables Cottage hasn’t been forgotten – it has had a head to toe paint job throughout and new mattresses on all the beds this year and remains really popular with families. As I write this we have 3 generations of one family playing cricket between the summer showers outside The Stables – a proper family break.
